In August of 2005, the Joliet Police Department took possession of the former Joliet Fire Station #9 as a substation. The #9 Fire Station needed to be moved in order to provide better service coverage of the rapidly growing area of Joliet's far west side.

The general public can not only find select police services here, but also limited municipal services since the City of Joliet also uses the facility.

Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on weekends.
