The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego has two branches- the original Museum is located in La Jolla. This branch is in downtown San Diego next to the Santa Fe Depot. In fact, the Museum's building used to be the Depot's baggage building.
The Museum presents works from 1950 to the present. The Museum features installation art, paintings, sculpture, mixed media and photographic pieces.
An interesting event held by the Museum downtown is "TNT" Thursday Night Thing- held quarterly, the event presents new works with interactive performances inspired by the new exhibition(s).
