The throw of the staircase is also the responsibility of the Archbishop Rodrigo de Moura Teles not come to see the completed since he died on September 4, 1728.
Divided in 3 parts: Staircase's Porch; The Five Senses; The Three Virtues.
An arch at the entrance of the staircase, shows the coat of D. Rodrigo de Moura Teles, Archbishop of Braga.
The Five Senses are represented by fountains by the following order: Vision, hearing, smell, taste, touch.
The Three Virtues are represented again by fountains dedicated to the Theological virtues: Faith, Hope and Charity.
The stairway ends at the Shrine of Moses following the churchyard and church.
