From the Smithsonian Art Inventory site:
"Approx. 9 ft. 6 in. x 10 ft. 6 in. x 6 in.
The sculpture presents an invitation expressed by the Psalmist for entry of everyone into the presence of God and depicts the reiteration of that universal and constant invitation by his posture and open hands. He stands beneath a design of interlocking arches. The sculpture was commissioned by the church as a memorial to a parishioner's wife. The sculpture by Egon Weiner was cast in Oslo, Norway, in late 1963 and was installed and dedicated during the winter of 1963-1964."
Found out this was not too far from my house so I biked over to take photos on this fine fall day.
