It was first discovered by the archeologist Virgílio Correia in 1912,
after finding a roman grave by a quarry. He first reported Roman presence in the area, before finding the Villa complex.
The complex was totally discovered and documented in 1973. It was built on the II century. At the moment, these ruins have been left to despair. You can easily walk to them without finding any kind of information, a sign, a plaque, etc.
