Father Time is a winged figure holding an hourglass in his outstretched proper left hand and a scythe over his proper right shoulder. Figure sits atop a clock which juts out from the corner of the building high above street level.

"The base of Father Time is an eight-ton bronze clock. The figure was the symbol for the Elgin Watch Company which, at the time of the building's completion in 1926, had general offices located in the building. Father Time was a gift from the Elgin Watch Company to the Chicago Jewelers' Association.
Sculpture: approx. 5 x 2 ft."
