Around 2:30pm on December 23, 2009 a armed man pushing a wheelchair entered the post office and took three persons hostage. The man claimed to have five pounds of C-4 explosive stapped to the wheelchair and hand grenades in addition to a weapon.
After 8 1/2 hours of negotiations, the man surrendered to police. There were no injuries.
