In Cambridge, on, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus, there are many bike racks all over the place. One of them, at the Weisner Building (MIT Building E15), has one rack that includes a station where you can pump air into your tires and make basic repairs.

The rack is a basic tubular frame with smaller bent features added on to wrap cables into. There is a row against the building and a row on the plaza. The repair station is located by the row on the plaza.

The Weisner Building is where the List Visual Arts Center is located and was where the MIT Media Lab was located (now located in the building adjacent to it). The building is off of Ames Street, about where Ames Street bends eastward (if coming from Memorial Drive). The rack is on the other side of a rough archway to the right, next to an entrance to the building.

MIT is working in collaboration with the City of Cambridge to make Cambridge more bike friendly. A document found on the internet discusses progress made and issues they are still trying to agree on. One development is the possibility of having a bike rental facility on campus. See the MIT Town Gown Report, 2009 for details. Follow the map link to see the bike racks, as well as the bike paths, trails, and roads around the campus.

The local transit, Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Red Line, offers limited access times for when bikes are allowed on the subways. See the MBTA web site for details.
