This scenic mountainside lookout provides a panoramic view of Lake Henshaw at the foot of Mount Palomar. The US Department of Agriculture which apparently operates the site, has placed some signs to point out birds of prey you might see in the area. Drive a few miles up the mountain to visit the Palomar Observatory...and perhaps a different micro-climate than experienced here.
