Griffith Park- famous for it's Observatory, lies between the Hollywood Hills and downtown Los Angeles. It is the tenth largest urban park in the United States covering 4200 acres (6.58 square miles).
In addition to the Observatory (and Planetarium), the Park also has a view of the Hollywood sign, the famed Greek Theatre, the Los Angeles Zoo, the Museum of the American West, a caroussel, two 18-holes and one 9-hole golf courses, baseball, basketball and tennis facilities, hiking and equestrian trails, etc. The park is open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.
