Glasgow, Missouri has a population 1,263. Early in its history it was important Missouri River town but as transportation changed from riverboat to railroad the town declined.
The much larger Glasgow, Scotland has a population of about 1.2 million in its metropolitan area and is the largest city in Scotland and is the third largest city in the United Kingdom.
