This Doughboy sits in front of the Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical.
This Doughboy was dedicated on September 5, 1925. Muskogee's Doughboy has a lot of individuality from other Doughboy's throughout America. Bullhead, South Dakota and Muskogee, Oklahoma are the only locations that recognize the contributions of Native Americans. Bolivar and Sedalia, Missouri, St. Bernard, Ohio and Muskogee, Oklahoma are the only four locations to have Rylander copyright marks.
In 1922, Viquesney encountered financial difficulties. He transfered all rights until he became stable in early 1926.
The plaque on the front reads:
Erected in Commemoration of members of the Five Civilized Tribes, whose record of enlistment, conduct in camp, and fortitude and valor on the battlefield added lustre to the triumphant victory of our country in the World War.
