The oldest recodrs about town of Kadan are related to its hospital and church, both are connected with Knights Hospitaller of Order of St. John. But only the Romanesque prismatic ashlars in the walls from the end of 12th century give the evidence about the oldest history of St. John the Baptist. This Romanesque - early Gothic structure was badly damaged during Hussite wars in 1421 and restored in 1452. Later it was reconstructed again after several fires. In the church's interior you can find vault frescoes depicting the life of St. John the Baptist from 1744. The church is now used for classical music concerts, small actions and handing-over of graduation certificates and certificates of apprenticeships.
