This hikes up to a summit elevation of 200 meters and then descends to Discovery Bay. There are a total of approximately 1,200 steps leading up to the highest point in the hike. At the top is a gazebo shown in picture two. Here you can also find the geocache GC17CW6 Stroll to Silvermine.
On the way down to Discovery Bay you will pass through the Trappist Monastery. Here there is the geocache GCVNQQ Trappist Cache hidden by an Outdoor Stations of the Cross.
The trail ends at a Discovery Bay ferry dock where you can take a ferry to Mui Wo or Peng Chau. The distance of 2.8 miles or 4.5 kilometers is one way from the trailhead at this Waymark's coordinates to the Discovery Bay ferry dock. For a round trip hike either walk one way and take the ferry back or double the walking time. The ferry takes approximately 45 minutes one way. Along the route there are several stations with poles that have red tips. These are fire beaters and can be seen in photo three. These are used to prevent wild fires.
