Be it optical illusuon or vortex or gravitational anomaly - if you put your vehicle in neutral...it appears to roll uphill!

This unassuming but aptly named road (Gravity Hill RD) is marked at 2 spots - 'GH START' and 'GH END' - where one can put a car in neutral and it will begin to roll seemingly uphill for a tenth of a mile. Pouring water will also run in the same direction as the car, as will a ball.

A nearby stream gently flows to the SE and a close inspection of the trees reveals that they bend to the SE also...or is the ground actually rising as you travel SE?

The best way to solve this problem is to visit Gravity Hill yourself!

To find Gravity Hill - proceed W on US 30 from Bedford until reaching Schellsburg (8 miles). Turn N onto PA 96 & travel 4 miles to Bethel Hollow RD & as small sign noting Gravity Hill. Proceed W on Bethel Hollow RD for about 2 miles to a fork & turn right onto Gravity Hill RD. Follow the road until you see the markings and begin your experiments!

Note - coordinates listed are at the 'Start' markings.
Ending coordinates are: N 40° 06.643 W 078° 41.495
