John Hughlings Jackson has been referred to as the "father of English neurology. He pioneered research into epilepsy as well as aphasia and neuro-ophthalmology.[1]

A number of neurological conditions and symptoms bear his name, such as Jackson's cerebellar syndrome, Jackson's epilepsy, Jackson-MacKenzie syndrome, and Jacksonian march [3]
