The Red House Museum is a beautiful Georgian workhouse restored and full of interesting displays. The displays vary from natural to cultural history including archeology and geology.
The Herbert Druitt Costume Gallery has fashion from 1903 to 1939, The Bygones Gallery details life in the workhouse, The Arthur Romney Green Room allows research of local history and the walled gardens are lovingly planted.
There is also a tribute to Sir Donald Bailey who developed the Bailey Bridge in Christchurch.
