If you were to park near the Fiske Library you'll see a large hill with many ballfields. There is one right at the base of the hill. Choose a path to the top from the following: 1) Up the left side there is a trail where the J-Bar tow used to take you up. Pretty steep climb. 2) Up the main slope past center field. Pretty steep. 3) The trail to the right is the least steep but a little longer.
At the top you'll see a blockhouse for the tow operator, the top end of the tow with some cable still attached and a fireplace with a pipe chimney. Near the chimney is a gravel road which goes from the DPW (to the left) and the water towers (to the right). Head down the road towards the towers and look for a path on your left. Take the path and you'll come to a large boulder with a chunk that broke off and the remains of someones fire. There are a number of logs nearby which gave me enough of a boost to get on top of the boulder. The marker is set into the top and has been vandalized somewhat. I can't see any useful information as to the marker number or elevation.
Update 5-21-2010 - It has also been labeled as Knickup Hill on a map from 1893.
