Riparian Preserve Solar System Model - Gilbert, AZ - Solar System Models on Waymarking.com

This Solar System model is located at the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch in Gilbert, AZ. The preserve is located on the south side of Guadalupe Rd., just East of Greenfield Rd. The solar system model begins with the Sun at the gazebo on the hill in the park and continues through the trail system.

Each planet, scaled by distance, along the route is marked with a plaque describing how large the planet would be relative to the Sun at the start.

Originally there was a different solar system model here, but it began to degrade over time. Brandon Bumbernick restored this solar system model, in 2010, as his Eagle Scout Project.

The solar system model is open to the public 365 days a year from Dawn to Dusk. There is no fee.
