The Grand Union Canal, originally the Grand Junction Canal, was opened through Weedon in 1796. It passes Weedon on an aquaduct some 1/3ml long and two road bridges were built to allow access to the village from the A5, Watling Street. The posted co-ordinates are for the southern-most bridge, over Church Street, whilst the northern-most bridge, over Bridge Street, is at N52º 13.887 W 01º 4.586.

Both bridges were originally stone built but when the canal was widened in the late 1890s they were both extended with brick. The southern bridge was cement rendered in 1954.

The distance between the two bridges, and hence the length of the aquaduct, is 0.5km. Steps alongside the bridges allow access to the canal towpath.
