The first Rock Church opened in 2000 at a different location. The Church occupied this new facility in 2007.
According to the Church's website (

The Vision statement is "The Rock will be a global and highly trusted model of relevant and innovative evangelism."

The size of the Church's following has recently become an issue in the surrounding community since it seriously impacts parking. According to this San Diego Union Tribune story (
visit link) over 17,000 people attend services here every Sunday. The Church seats 3,500.
