Due to its prominent location in the north-east CBD, Chifley Tower has broad harbour views from its 42 storeys. There are 42 levels occupied by law firms, financial institutions and major corporates. Within the building and fronting Chifley Square, Chifley Plaza includes a selection of international and national retailers, an extensive food court, service shops and accessible public space. Renowned restaurants - Forty One and Azuma operate from the building.
A 3-metre lightning rod was added in 2000. To stop the tower from moving in the wind a giant steel pendulum weighing 400 tonnes is held from 8×75 mm wires near the rooftop. Level 41 Restaurant is 185m above street level.
