The waterfall has created about 300 m long canyon with the rims of 12 - 14 m high.
"The catchment area of the Jagala River consists mainly of forests and mires, reassuring sufficient flow rate in the river even during the low-water period in summer. The falling water has eroded the soft sandstones lying under the harder limestones and shaped a salient cliff wall resulting in constant retreat of the waterfall about 3 cm per year." from Estonia ecotourism.ee
