Immediately north of the bustling metropolis of Bangkok lies the province of Nonthaburi, one hour distant by bus or river. The capital city of the province shares the same name as the province (as does every Thai province). If you were to reach this city by riverboat, as you disembark at the main jetty, you will see a clock tower, on a traffic roundabout. The tower is approximately 6m high, light yellow in colour (in order to honour the King, yellow is the regal colour), and of some prominence. I have seen this clock tower mentioned on many websites, and T-shirts, and other memorabilia from the region. Good to say, the clock displays the correct time.
I could not find any hard information about the tower. A date on the side of the clock gives the Buddhist year of 2538 (1995). If this is the construction date then it is less than twenty years of age.
