Oral Roberts University's eternal flame is on the top of two layers of a black triangular fountain at the entrance to the Learning Resources building on campus. The flame is in the center of the top triangle.

Oral Roberts University was founded on the power of the Holy Spirit and on the authority of the Word of God.
The eternal flame at the entrance of the Learning Resources Center symbolizes the power of the Holy Spirit in the educational process at ORU, and was lighted by President Oral Roberts on October 31, 1965. The lighting climaxed the "Gideons" march of faith during ORU's dedication ceremonies.
The large triangular pool under the flame symbolizes the Holy Trinity and ORU's threefold purpose: education of the whole person in spirit, mind and body. The 12 notches through which the water flows are symbolic of the Twelve Apostles, and emphasize the healing flow of the Holy Spirit to the people of every generation.
