Crossing the Prairie is located at the main entrance to Jackson Park, right next to the parking lot. The sculpture is on top of a circular steel disc, which is on a 3 foot tall circular concrete foundation. The woman and baby are life-size, and the woman is wearing a lot of clothing that appears to be blowing in the wind. The child is being held close and up high on the woman's left shoulder.
