The Windsor Hotel has been a hotel continuously since it was built in 1893. It is one of only a handful of Victorian era buildings remaining in Phoenix, Arizona. Currently, it serves as a haven for the elderly poor in downtown Phoenix. The building was originally a two-story brick Victorian called the Sixth Avenue Hotel. It went through several names before arriving at the Windsor in the mid-1920s. In the mid-1930s, the Windsor was remodeled and a third story added. In the 1950s, it was finally renamed the New Windsor Hotel.
