Located in Spink County, South Dakota on US Highway 212, Doland boasts a population of around 300 as of the 2000 census.
Doland is the hometown of Hubert H. Humphrey, who was the Vice-President of the United States from 1965 to 1969. In 1968, he was the Democratic candidate for President.

Two other notable figures are Dennis and Duane Kozlowski, brother wrestlers, from Doland.

Doland High School is in a cooperative sports program with Conde and the athletic teams are called the Doland-Conde Chargers. These two towns have co-oped since 1990. In 2010, Doland will be forced to co-op with either Redfield or Clark, since Conde will be closing their school.

As with many small towns, Doland faces population decline, but this community is proud of what it offers.
