The depicted statuary of two miners called "The Mining" ("Hornictví"), together with so called "Vana's Stone" ("Vánuv kámen"), commemorates 100 years anniversary of the coal mining in this region (1848-1948). The massive bronze statuary on granite pedestal is located at small park near Gymnasium building at Edvard Beneš Square (Námestí Eduarda Beneše). The stone from 1854 commemorating first successful coal mining by Jan Vána on territory of Kladno was enriched with sculptures of coal miners by Ladislav Novák in 1954. The statuary is a typical example of art-style called "Socialist realism".
