By 1931, "The Empire State Diner" was open for business on Route 20, in Brocton New York. The name was later changed to "The Brocton Diner", by which the locals still refer to it as. The Diner has gone through some restoration, but the atmosphere is pure Diner, including the original dining car, still visible, once you are inside, the curved ceiling, and the front cooking area is still used to this day. The name was changed to the "Green Arch Restaurant" in the early 70's. The Diner still makes homemade food and desserts.....PIES! In this part of NY Friday fish frys are served just about everywhere and the Brocton Diner is known to have one of the best, at dinner hour its standing room only, you get a huge piece of deep fried fish choice of potato, cole slaw and bread. Friday Fish Fry is served every Friday from 11:30am - 8:00 pm.
The owners today are Al & Cheryl Brumagin and family. They have owned the Green Arch since 1983.
"Breakfast Anytime" and Take-out are available.
