The Eiband's building was built in 1914. It is a four-story vernacular commercial building. It gains its significance due to the length of time that the business operated from the same location. Eibands was the oldest continuously operated business in its original location (the business no longer exists). The firm was formed by Henry A. Eibands, Henry Garbade and Thomas McCrea and opened in September 1895 as Garbade, Eiband, & Co. The first operated from a small building on the site, in 1914 they acquired all the buildings on the three adjoining lots along with the buildings, with these they consolidated and remodeled them along with adding the fourth floor. The original core of the building dates to 1870.
