DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1921 STATION IS ON THE W SHORE OF EAGLE ISLAND, OPPOSITE MARKET STREET, WILMINGTON. ON THE FIRST SMALL POINT N OF THE FERRY LANDING, IN THE SE CORNER OF AN AREA WHICH HAS BEEN USED FOR THE STORAGE AND SHIPMENT OF NAVAL STORES. RESIN FROM THE DRIPPINGS HAS MIXED WITH THE SAND AND MADE THE GROUND NEARLY AS HARD AS ROCK. STATION AND REFERENCE MARKS ARE STANDARD BRONZE DISKS SET IN CONCRETE IN THE TOP OF TILES. THE REFERENCE MARK IS LOCATED WELL CLEAR OF THE STORAGE AREA NEAR A SHED WHICH STANDS ON THE N SIDE OF THE ROAD LEADING WESTWARD FROM THE FERRY LANDING, AND IS 37.985 METERS (124.62 FEET) FROM THE STATION S 61 DEG 15 MIN W.
