RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1969 AT ATLANTA. AT ATLANTA, DEKALB COUNTY, 4.2 MILES NORTHEAST OF DOWNTOWN FIVE POINTS, AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF BRIARCLIFF ROAD NORTHEAST AND NORTH EMORY ROAD, 69 FEET NORTHEAST OF A MANHOLE COVER ON THE EAST SIDE OF BRIARCLIFF ROAD, 3 FEET EAST OF THE EAST CURB OF BRIARCLIFF ROAD, 2 FEET WEST OF THE WEST EDGE OF THE SIDEWALK, AND IN A GRASS PLOT. A STANDARD TRAVERSE-STATION DISK, STAMPED 967.157 WORLEY 1927 AND SET UNDER GROUND IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST, ACCESS TO WHICH IS HAD THROUGH A CAST-IRON MANHOLE COVER FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND. NOTE-- ADDITIONAL REFERENCES, EMORY ROAD INSTEAD OF NORTH EMORY ROAD. 55.5 FT SOUTHWEST OF FIRE HYDRANT ON NORTH SIDE OF EMORY ROAD, 15.5 FEET SOUTHWEST OF EMORY ROAD AND BRIARCLIFF ROAD STREET POST.
Note: The cast-iron manhole cover has been replaced by a lighter weight metal cover with a hole in the center of it.
