Vysocanska zeleznicni budova byla postaveno roku 1872 jako spolecna nadrazni budova pro dve spolecnosti - TKPE (Turnovsko-kralupsko prazska draha) a ONWB (Rakouska severozapadni draha). Prvni vedla podle sveho nazvu a koncila na dnesnim Wilsonove nadrazi, druha z Hradce Kralove pres Nymburk mela konecnou na Denisove nadrazi (komunisty pozdeji prejmenovane na nadrazi Tesnov a jeste pozdeji tato nejhezci nadrazni budova Evropy jimi i zborena)

Prave ve Vysocanech se tyto dve trate na chvili setkaly a daly vzniknout unikatnimu nadrazicku - tzv. ostrovnimu - kdy kazda spolecnost mela koleje z jedne strany budovy, do ktere je pristup tunelem pod kolejemi.

Praha Vysocany railroad station was built in 1872 as a common station for two railways companies - TKPE (Turnovsko-kralupsko prazska draha) and ONWB (Rakouska severozapadni draha). In Vysocany these two railroads came across for a while and developed these unique station - every company used one side of the building - TKPE had rails on northern side and ONWB on south. Thats why entrance from street to the building is through two small tunnels. Today on the north is direction to Prague and on the south out of Prague to Turnov, Kolin, Nymburk, Hradec Kralove ....
