3 men were killed when a Cessna float plane crashed into McIvor Lake, near Campbell River, BC. The accident was witnessed by 22 children from a local elementary school, who were at the lake having kayaking lessons. The plane stalled in mid-turn and plummetted into the lake. The plane was destroyed by the impact.
