In Dedham, in the section called Riverdale, is the Pine Ridge Pet Cemetery. At the top of the hill on Anne's Place, is a parking lot where you can park your car and walk a short distance to see a stone gazebo.
The gazebo overlooks a bowl-shaped feature of ledge and grass. There are grave markers both in this dale and in the woods behind the gazebo. One of the more famous ones is the monument for Admiral Byrd's dog, Igloo, not more than 50 feet away.
The gazebo could be as old as 103 years old as the cemetery was founded in 1907.
