In an October 2000 Article in the Ann Arbor Observer (visit link) entitled Gasoline Alley, author Grace Shackman tells of the rise an fall of the gas stations in Ann Arbor.

She tells us about Pauls Service Station here-

"Houselike stations were especially popular, on the theory that they could blend with residential neighborhoods. Paul’s Service Station, built in 1930 at the northwest corner of Ann and Fourth, was done in Tudor style, complete with a brick facade and slate roof (partially obscured by a later cinder-block addition, the building is now Adam’s Garden of Eden)."
