This memorial sits adjacent to the Littleton Art Museum and Bemis Library. It is in a quiet area allowing for reflection of the heroism and sacrifice of those who fought and those who supported the effort. The members of the committee were WWII veterans themselves and their website offers biographies and links for further information. The site features plaques explaining the progress of WWI in the various theaters and a large copy of the WWII Victory Medal. A bench seat runs along the perimeter with engravings of the major donors to this project.
The main plaque reads:
This Memorial is Dedicated
To the Millions of Men and Women
of the United States
Who Served Their Country
During World War II.
The Cause was Freedom.
Their Actions and Sacrifices
Will Always be Remembered.
