This reference mark is located about 200 feet south of the Ginkgo Petrified Forest Museum at Vantage, Washington. The cap is set in bedrock at the rim of a 200 ft cliff, about 100 feet east the park road. The cap was set by the U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey in 1957 and was marked MUSEUM NO 1.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1957. TO REACH THE BENCH MARK FROM THE POST OFFICE IN VANTAGE, DRIVE WEST ON U.S. HIGHWAY 10 FOR 0.5 MILE TO THE GINKGO PETREFIED FOREST MUSEUM ENTRANCE ROAD ON THE LEFT. TURN LEFT AND GO SOUTH ON THE MACADAM ROAD FOR 1.0 MILE TO THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE MUSEUM AND THE BENCH MARK. IT IS 100 FEET EAST OF THE CENTER OF THE ENTRANCE ROAD, 3 FEET WEST OF THE EDGE OF THE CLIFF AND CEMENTED IN A DRILL HOLE IN OUTCROPPING BEDROCK WHICH IS FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND.
