Sir Joseph Hobbs (1864 - 1938) lead a distinguished career in World War One, and subsequently a distinguished career as an architect in Perth, and and as prominent, public spirited citizen.

The statue of Hobbs is located on the Swan River foreshore, near the intersection of Barrick St and River Side Drv. The statue consists of Hobb's torso, resting on a plinth. In total ~6m high. It is constructed of bronze and brown standstone, and was unveiled in 1940. There is very little biographical information on the statue itself. The statue is somewhat obscured by surrounding palm trees.
