Wentworth Falls, Whangamata - Waterfalls on Waymarking.com

Long Description:
South of Whangamata, just past Titoki Golf Course, turn right into Wentworth Valley Road. Some 3.5kms later cross a concrete ford, after which you will find a picnic area, continuing on after another concrete crossing of the river (good swimming spot here), you soon come to the main camping area - ample parking - though a short distance further a limited parking spot for walkers and trampers. Following a well made track on the left bank of the river, cross a side stream, later on cross the main river, then follow the right bank for some distance, a forestry sign board shows time to waterfall, a few moments later rock-hop to the left bank. Now starts the gradual climb up to the falls, when you hear the sound of the falls you are in the vicinity of a track on the right, which takes you to the foot of the falls, though part way down the best views are seen. Only a short distance later, from the top track, good views down the valley, part of Whangamata and the off-shore islands. Around the corner and there is the river tumbling over the falls.
Time 1 ½ hours depending on whether you stopped to admire the bush, river, birds etc.
The track has had a full make over end of 2009 and now has bridges crossing the river. A good walk for all the family
