General Joseph "Fighting Joe" Hooker was the third commander of the Army of the Potomac during the Civil War. A Bay Stater himself, this statue commemorates his service for the Union.
The statue of him stands outside the eastern entrance on Beacon Street to the Massachusetts State House just north of Boston Common in Boston, MA.
