Heidelberg Project
Is an on going art project that uses up 1 city block but overflows to each of the streets on either side and along the streets on both east and the west of Heidelberg. Tyree Guyton is the artist, he grew up on this street. Having met Tyree a couple of times over the years I can say that he is an awesome man and a talented artist. Hie grandfather who first moved on this street was also an artist and was Tyree's inspiration and the one that encouraged art in his young life. The posted co-ords will take you to the front of the center piece of the project, The Dotty Dot House. Tyree describes it as a house that proves that all colors can live together in harmony. This also happens to be the home of his mother, who still lives here with one of Tyree's brother, Tyree does not live here on this street. Each of the pieces of art here has a reason and Tyree will always stop his work to tell you of each piece. Tyree Guyton is world renown with art work in many art museums around the world including a few pieces on display at the world class Detroit Institute of Art.
