The City of Fraser established its City Charter in 1956. Before this it became the Village of Fraser in 1928. This city consists of 4 square miles and has a population of over 15,000 people.
A small community about 5 miles from the City of Detroit its main product is job shops that supply the auto companies with parts ans services.
The building here is the City of Fraser Municipal Complex. The main building has the city offices, the police station and the court. Attached to the east end of the building is the fire department. Up along the side wall of is a war memorial that commemorates and remembers veterans from all wars. Adjoining the complex is the cities largest park, Steffens Park. All of the city functions including Tree Lighting, Summer Fair, Fireworks and concerts are held at this park.
