This graphic features the Atlantic Puffin, which is the provincial bird of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is a colourful and comical looking bird about the size of a pigeon. Almost all of North America's puffins breed in this area. They spend most of the year at sea, coming ashore only to breed, from April to August. Puffin watching tours are a popular day activity for locals and visitors.
