The beautiful white limstone, red-roofed building, Syracuse City Hall building is located on Montgomery and East Washington Streets in downtown Syracuse. Designed by local architect Charles Erastus Colton, the building was constructed in the romanesque revival architecture style; a style that was made popular by Henry Richardson in the late 1800s, featuring rounded arches and large towers. Built in 1891, the building used limestone from Onondaga County quarries.
The City Hall building was renovated in 1979.
