At the heart of the village is the church of St Michael. The tower was built of limestone in the 14th Century, although the main body was demolished in 1723, before being rebuilt. A local carpenter, Edward Wing was responsible for the rebuilding in the English Baroque style. The north and south elevations mimic the facade of a country house with its central doorway and two storey windows.
