Armistead T. Thompson - Vienna, Virginia - Out of Place Graves on Waymarking.com

This out of place grave is the final resting place of Armistead T. Thompson who died in 1864 while imprisioned at Camp Point Lookout in Southern Maryland. He was imprisoned for twelve months. This soldier was a Virginia Volunteer for the Confederacy during the American Civil War. The grave site sits at the corner of a major road and in a residential and commercial area. A strip shopping center backs up this small lot. It is also located near the local subway system, Metro rail. The monument is difficult to read due to weathering. There is one other grave close by.
