The Church of the Ascension of the Virgin Mary is Gothic triple-nave pseudobasilica, dates back to the second half of the 14th century.
Church's belfry, which nowadays serves also a lookout tower and is 65 m tall, comes from the 15th century and got its present appearance - like a number of other town architecture - after the destructive fire of the town in 1801.
The county town Jindrichuv Hradec is situated in the South Bohemian region by the Nežárka river and Vajgar lake. It has nearly 22 000 inhabitans and a beautiful historical center with huge complex of Gothic–Rennaisance chateau.
