Saragtoga Monument is located on the grounds of Saratoga National Historic Park. These grounds were the scene of a crucial event that helped American's win their independence.
Triumphant from their spectacular victory in the Battles of Saratoga, American troops pursued British forces that retreated to these grounds. After a brief siege, the British surrendered, marched down the hill and laid down their weapons on October 17, 1777.
From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the Obelisk is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9:30am - 4:30pm.
It is also open from Labor Day through mid-October on the weekends.
